Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has issued several severe thunderstorm watches across Saskatchewan Monday afternoon. The city of Regina was put under a watch around 2:50 p.m., according to ECCC’s website. “Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain,” the weather office said. Other areas under a severe thunderstorm watch Monday afternoon included Yorkton, Melville and Kindersley. In an update at 4:49 p.m., a tornado warning was issued for the rural municipality of Garry, located west of Yorkton. According to the weather service, the thunderstorm system was capable of damaging winds, large hail and intense rainfall.
