Those across Saskatchewan only have more frigid conditions to look forward to as the full force of winter temperatures bear down on the province. A “multi-day” episode of very cold wind chills, at times plunging to -40 C, are expected to last through the long weekend. While the values may moderate slightly during the day, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) says that the extreme cold will return overnight. As of 11 a.m. Sunday, the entire province was under extreme cold warnings, with the cold front extending into both Alberta and Manitoba. The federal weather agency warns residents to cover up and dress appropriately as frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin in extreme cold conditions.
