One person was transported to hospital following a work-related incident at Wheat City Metals Recycling on Tuesday, according to Evraz North America. “After receiving emergency care on-site, the employee was transported to a nearby medical facility. Our prayers are with our teammate and his family,” the company wrote in a statement to CTV News. According to Evraz, operations at the facility are currently on hold. “We will fully cooperate with the [Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety] on the investigation of this incident,” the company added. In a message to CTV News, STARS air ambulance confirmed that STAR-9 was dispatched to a scene call emergency just after 11 a.m. and one patient was transported to the Regina General Hospital. STARS noted that while it is not common for its air ambulances to respond to calls within city limits, the service “works closely with local first responders and can attend such calls if required.” Sask. RCMP confirmed that officers received a report of an injury at a business on Armour Road at around 8:20 Tuesday morning. Officers from the service’s White Butte detachment responded, in addition to EMS. “To be mindful of the privacy of those involved, we are unable to provide any further details,” the service said in its update Tuesday afternoon.
