After an extended deep freeze in Saskatchewan, extreme cold warnings were lifted on Thursday, with a warmup on the way. In an alert from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) Just before 12 p.m., lingering extreme cold warnings for south central and southeast Saskatchewan, were lifted. According to the weather service, Regina, as well as the R.M.’s of Abernethy, Antler, Mount Pleasant, and Argyle, were the last areas of the province to have their warnings lifted. The extreme cold lasted through the long weekend, with temperatures reaching minus 40 C with the windchill in some areas. On Sunday morning, the entire province was under extreme cold warnings.
