After a near four-week trial, Thomas Louis Bodechon was found guilty of first-degree murder for the 2021 death of Kade Luke Neapetung in Regina. In Canada, being found guilty of first-degree murder comes with an automatic life sentence in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years. Bodechon was found guilty by a jury at Regina’s Court of King’s Bench on Thursday morning. Regina police located Neapetung’s body in a home on the 1000 block of Angus Street on Oct. 18, 2021. On Oct. 26, 2021, Bodechon, who was 18 at the time, was then arrested in Saskatoon after police were led to a home in the city’s Sutherland neighbourhood while investigating an armed robbery. The case was deemed Regina’s tenth homicide of 2021.
