Prince Albert RCMP were called to a serious collision Sunday night on Highway 11 near the junction with Highway 2. According to an RCMP news release, police received several reports of a person in the middle of Highway 11’s southbound lane south of Prince Albert at around 9:15 p.m. Sunday. A subsequent call reported that a pedestrian had been hit by an SUV on Highway 11 near the junction with Highway 2. The pedestrian, identified as a 35-year-old woman from Patuanak, Sask., was declared dead at the scene. A spokesperson for Parkland Ambulance Care said paramedics were called to the crash site at around 9:16 p.m. Sunday. The 65-year-old woman driving the SUV, along with one female passenger, did not report any injuries to police. The highway was closed for an undetermined amount of time - with detours put in place. As of 12:49 p.m. Monday, the highway has been reopened. Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstruction personnel continue to investigate the incident.
