A man has been charged with first degree murder in relation to a death on Victoria Avenue last Thursday. The Regina Police Service (RPS) announced Sunday evening that it had charged a suspect as a part of the homicide investigation. Keli Stonechild, 33, faces a singular count of first-degree murder. He is set to make his appearance in provincial court on Monday, April 28. The investigation began at around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 24. Officers and EMS were dispatched to the 800 block of Victoria Avenue following a call for service. Upon their arrival, they found an injured man. He was pronounced dead a short while later, according to RPS. An investigation began immediately, which involved multiple police units and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service. The investigation revealed the death as a homicide. The victim’s name will not be released at the request of their family, RPS added. The death marks Regina’s third homicide of 2025.
