A Fort McMurray man is in custody along with a sizable seizure of illicit drugs and cash – after an operation by the Regina Police Service (RPS). On Tuesday, members of the service’s drug unit executed two Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrants. One was targeted at a storage locker and another at a home on the 4600 block of Mutrie Crescent. During the searches, officers found 7.7 kilograms of methamphetamine, 2.8 kilograms of fentanyl, 1.3 kilograms of cocaine and approximately $62,000 in cash. As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old man from Fort McMurray, Alta. is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl in addition to one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. The accused made his first appearance on his charges in Regina provincial court on Wednesday.
