A man from Shaunavon, Sask. is facing child porn charges, according to the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit. On Nov. 13, the ICE unit executed a search warrant at a home in the community of Shaunavon. Electric devices were examined and seized by investigators. As a result of the investigation, Brent Fitzpatrick, 52, was charged with one count of possession of child pornography, along with one count of accessing child pornography. Fitzpatrick appeared in provincial court on Jan.13 and has been released on numerous conditions, according to police. The Saskatchewan ICE unit is comprised of investigators from municipal police services and Saskatchewan RCMP. The unit’s mandate is to investigate crimes involving the abuse or exploitation of children on the internet. Shaunavon is located around 350 kilometres southwest of Regina.
