A 21-year-old Regina man is facing multiple counts of attempted murder, among other charges, following his alleged involvement in a shooting over the weekend.
Regina police were dispatched at around 1:50 a.m. on Saturday to the 1300 block of Pasqua Street for a weapons offence.
Police were informed that a male suspect shot the victim with what appeared to be a gun before fleeing the area.
Upon their arrival, police discovered a youth suffering from serious injuries. They were treated by paramedics and transported to hospital.
A short time later, police say that officers found a man matching the suspect description on the 1500 block of Pasqua Street – a search revealed a pistol.
The man was arrested without incident.
The accused faces three counts of attempted murder, discharging a restricted firearm, possession of a weapon, three counts of pointing a firearm, possessing a firearm while knowing it is unauthorized and possessing an unauthorized weapon, careless use of a firearm, failure to comply with conditions and possessing a firearm contrary to a prohibition order.
The accused made his first appearance in provincial court Monday morning.
