As wildfires rage across the northern Saskatchewan, another community has been ordered to evacuate. Shortly before 11 a.m. on Sunday, residents of Timber Bay, a small community of 81 residents located in north-central Saskatchewan, were ordered to evacuate the community due to a fast-moving wildfire threatening the area. Timber Bay, situated about 30 minutes off Highway 2, which connects La Ronge and Prince Albert, is accessible via secondary Highway 969, a former main route into the north. The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA) asks the residents to leave the area immediately via Highway 969 and Highway 2 and proceed to the Meridian Inn and Suites in Regina. This evacuation is part of a larger response to the ongoing wildfires in northern Saskatchewan, which have forced multiple communities to evacuate and prompted a province-wide state of emergency. The situation remains volatile, with firefighters and emergency responders working to contain the blazes and protect affected communities.
