The Regina Police Service (RPS) says members of its SWAT team are conducting training exercises at the Regina General Hospital. The training, which began at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, includes rappel work. “Those in the area may see officers on top of and around the building. Multiple police vehicles will also be parked in the area,” a news release said. The public and the media will not be permitted to take pictures or video of the training. RPS is also reminding residents that air space above the hospital is completely restricted in order to ensure the safety of Stars Air Ambulance. “Please do not operate drones in or near this area. This includes the safety of the staff, patients and those in the area,” the release said. RPS said consistent and collaborative training with community partners and stakeholders is important to ensure everyone is prepared and knows their role in the event of a real emergency.
