Regina police have laid multiple charges against a 17-year-old after an incident involving a gun late last week. At around 4:40 a.m. on Jan. 30, police responded to a business on the 1100 block of Angus Street after a caller reported a man with a gun had threatened to shoot a customer. The suspect then left the business and entered a nearby home. Due to the nature of the incident and the fact the suspect had a gun, the Tactical Support Team (TST) was called in. After multiple attempts to make contact, TST officers entered the home about four hours later and arrested the youth without incident. A search revealed a loaded, sawed-off rifle. The 17-year-old, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, faces charges including carrying a concealed weapon, careless storage of a firearm, possession of a firearm knowing it is unauthorized, two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, and uttering threats. He appeared in Regina Provincial Youth Court on Monday, Feb. 2.
