One of the accused in the death of Aron Lunan has pleaded guilty to manslaughter. Tyler Wayne Edwards, 38, was initially charged with first degree-murder on July 3, 2025 for Lunan’s death, but pleaded down to manslaughter on Thursday in Regina Provincial Court. He was sentenced to over nine years in prison with credit for time served. The sentence also includes a lifetime firearm ban. Edwards was one of four people charged in relation to the homicide along with Britain Volk, Patrick Akapew, and Kayla Mitton, who all faced first degree murder charges. Volk pleaded guilty to first degree murder in October 2025 and was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years. His sentence also included a lifetime prohibition on firearms, along with a no contact order with the co-accused and Lunan’s family. On June 10, 2025, Saskatchewan RCMP were called to a rural area near Grand Coulee for the report of a death. An investigation was launched, and the death was later deemed a homicide. Lunan’s death was later determined to be caused by two gunshot wounds with a .22 calibre rifle. He was 35 years old. Grand Coulee is about 17 kilometres west of Regina.
