Manitoba RCMP say the parents of a newborn are facing charges after the baby was found with significant injuries. According to police, their investigation began on Sept. 9, 2025, when Mounties learned that an infant was brought to the Child Protection Centre with unexplained injuries. An examination of the baby, who was less than a month old, found multiple fractures, lacerations and bruising. The newborn was then placed into care. The RCMP’s integrated child abuse unit investigated and searched the parents’ home in southeastern Manitoba. A charge of aggravated assault has been authorized against the parents, who are both 32 years old. The suspects have been released from custody on an undertaking. The allegations have not been tested in court.
