The Regina Police Service (RPS) is asking for help in searching for two suspects who allegedly stopped a vehicle in the city before beating and robbing the driver. At around 2:50 a.m. on Monday, officers were dispatched to the area of Angus Street and 8th Avenue to investigate a 911 call that was hung up. When police arrived in the area, they found a man who told officers he was driving down the street when a pedestrian jumped in front of his vehicle. The driver stopped his vehicle and the man who had jumped into traffic opened the vehicle’s passenger side door, got inside and started assaulting the driver, according to police. The suspect stole the victim’s phone and a ring off his finger. A second suspect, a woman, appeared at the driver side of the vehicle and demanded the driver given her anything else he had. The pair of suspects then fled the scene. The first suspect is described as around six feet tall, with short black hair. He was wearing a black tank top. The second suspect was described as a 40 to 50-year-old woman who was wearing a black sweater. Anyone with information that could aid investigators is asked to contact Regina police or Crime Stoppers.
